FAQ

Is it safe?

...Yes, we take great care and pride in our very strict procedure of how our artists set up their station. We exceed all of the regulations set forth by the county, state and licensing board. All of our artists are State Board licensed and all hold medical certifications in Bloodborne Pathogens, CPR, AED, and First Aid. We use only disposable materials in the application of your tattoo. For example, all inks, needles, razors, barriers, etc., are all one time use only per client. A hospital grade EPA disinfectant is used as a secondary measure on all surfaces before and after each session. You should think twice about getting tattooed at any other shop if these very important steps aren't part of their process.

Does it hurt?

...Yes it hurts, however pain is subjective and different from one person to another, even from one day to another. It comes down to effort vs. reward. If the tattoo is important enough to you, then the pain associated with the process will be more than acceptable.

How about one of those sweet Friday 13th specials?

...These “deals” do nothing but cheapen our craft. Shops selling these deals will have a preset sheet with designs you have to choose from. Why get the same tattoo that 100 other people already got that day or on the last 13th? We use premium quality inks and supplies in our tattoo set up that already costs us considerably more than that “13th special”. Typically lines of people gather for the day, considering that multitude of activity, cross contamination should be a major concern. All of the tattoos performed at Khaos Ink are custom designed and never used again on anyone else. Treat yourself right and respect your body.

How is my tattoo priced?

...Most of our tattoos are large and require multiple sessions. The sessions are priced based on our artist’s half day or full day session rates which are clearly posted in our lobby. For smaller jobs, the tattoo will be custom priced and not based on time.

Refunds?

We have a NO refund policy on tattoos, fees, products or any of our services.

Do you offer body piercings?

...We do not offer body piercing services

How old do I need to be?

...You must be at least 18 years of age or older. A valid government issued ID is required before any session begins. Only driver licenses or DMV issued IDs and passports. We do not tattoo anyone under 18, not even with parent consent. We will absolutely not tattoo you without a proper ID regardless of age.

Should I tip my wonderful artist?

...Tips are always well respected by your artist. We perform a service, not sell a product. Our artist will put their heart and time into every tattoo here at Khaos Ink, and we get very personally invested in making your tattoo great. If you love your tattoo and feel that your artist met or exceeded your expectations, please let your artist know with a friendly tip.

Someone told me to get really drunk or worse before my appointment?

...Do not. We will not tattoo anyone who is under the influence of any drug or alcohol. Remember that this is a permanent choice and you need to have a clear mind going in.

I'm really excited about my appointment, what should I do to prepare?

...We highly suggest that you eat a good meal prior to your session and make sure you are well rested and well hydrated.

Can I bring all of my friends, co workers, my entire family and perhaps the whole neighborhood too?

...Our stations have limited space and in the interest of keeping safety in check, at this time we do not allow any guests to attend your session nor wait in the lobby.

How do I set an appointment?

...Please email us to schedule a free consultation. If you would like to proceed after you meet with an artist, we require a design fee, and will proceed to schedule your appointments for your tattoo.

I can draw pretty good, how about I just design it myself?

...We encourage you to bring in any drawing or sketch that you have, even bringing in photo reference is a good idea. However, a tattoo design has to be very specifically designed as a tattoo. Please trust your tattoo artist and allow them to create a one of a kind design for you.

I'm a sun worshiper, when can I go tanning?

...You must absolutely keep out of, or completely physically cover your tattoo from the sun or artificial tanning for at least 30 days. Sunblock alone within the first 30 days is not enough protection. After your tattoo is healed, you must use sunblock anytime that you will expose it to the sun or tanning as it will fade and darken the clarity of your beautiful tattoo.

The more I think about it, I'm convinced that I'm actually a fish so when can I go swimming?

...Usually you may resume the status of a flounder or halibut at about the 2 week time frame. It's important that you remember that with outdoor swimming activities comes sun exposure which must be avoided for one month.
